Wisconsin Power Grab

Walker's attack on the Wisconsin public employees' unions is another effort to shift the economic burden of government from the rich to those with less power. At the same time Walker and his cohort Republicans are cutting taxes to corporations, they are trying to cut the income of the public employees. They are also seeking to limit the public employees' power to oppose such shifting of economic burden. Walker and his cohorts represent the rich, it's clear. They are attacking those who actually have committed their lives to serving the people.

Wisconsin Protests

What no one seems to get is that imposing a reduction in the benefits and wages of the public employees is taxing them while everyone else is getting tax cuts. And on top of that the Republicans want to take away their rights to collective bargaining.

Partisan attacks on Obama

The partisan attacks on Obama are difficult to fathom because he is the most moderate president we have had in decades. And he has in fact been one of the most vocal opponents of partisanship. Whether he originated the sentence, "We can disagree without being disagreeable," or not, he used it frequently during his campaign and has used it since his election.

He also has the least controversial, least reproachable background of any president we have had in decades. He has no history of alcoholism, he is a good family man, he has never been divorced, he has an outstanding educational background, he was a university professor, he is devoutly religous but does not force his religion on others, there is no hint that he has ever had an affair, and there is no hint of scandal about him. The news organizations must be desperate.
